Tell us about your agency – what is your company’s history and mission?
19 years ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that was conceived with the help of an egg donor. 3 years later, I decided I wanted to help others have the joy I felt after 5 years of fertility treatments. My ethnic background was diverse, African-American and Irish, so it was hard for me to find a donor who I felt would be best for me. A few years later I decided to start an egg donor agency that specialized in hard-to-find egg donors. I recruited donors with diverse ethnic backgrounds because I know how important it was for me to have a donor who shared my heritage. For over 15 years, I’ve been able to help Parents realize their dreams of having a child. My mission is simple, help others find a donor who they feel shares the ethnic background of the Intended Mother and to always remember how I felt when my dreams came true. Our agency makes sure the process is personal and hands on, because it’s a decision that last a lifetime.
What advice do you have for intended parents beginning the egg donation process?
Look for a donor who not only shares your physical characteristics and ethic background but also someone who shares who you are as a person. I always tell my clients to look for a donor who you would like as a person.
Why do you do what you do? What makes the hard work worth it?
I enjoy what I do because I know there are parents out there who were able to experience the joy of unconditional love when their child is born. I often receive baby pictures when a child is born, but what really makes the hard work worth it, is when I receive pictures of toddlers and even teenagers who my clients share with me through out the years.
